Increase Metabolism with Thermic Meals

December 16, 2007

In my search to increase metabolism I have come across another brilliant thought to to increase metabolism. I have always understood that to lose weight you have to burn more calories then take in. I attempted many time to try and figure out my daily calorie need then stay below it by counting the calories in my food. I am either incredibly impatient, bad at math, or I was simply annoyed at spending more time then counting the damn calories in my food then enjoying eating it. Needless to say it didn’t last long and yet again I was at a loss to get a smaller belt size. With all the info out there I knew there had to be a more intelligent way to eat healthy. After way to much hopeless internet surfing I called a local friend of mine that was a personal trainer and we had a discussion about how to increase metabolism with Thermic Meals.

What the hell is a thermic meal? A thermic meal is a meal combination of the three major nutrient groups: lean protein, starchy carbohydrate (like a potato), and a fibrous carbohydrate (like broccoli). This mixture of nutrients is not easy for the body to break down quickly so it forces the body to work harder and longer to digest it. I believe that you can increase your metabolism daily by around 20% just by eating meals like this. I have no written proof but hell it worked for me!

Who would of thought that you could increase metabolism by simply combining foods. Yet again here is another bit of information that we often never hear that will help to increase metabolism.

Muslce: Increase Metabolism The Right Way

December 15, 2007

I have never been a huge fan of weight training, but with some guidance from some great trainers I have come to understand that adding muscle will ultimately increase metabolism. Have you ever heard the saying “use it or lose it”? Well, it plays a huge part in that rapidly decreasing metabolism you are dealing with. This can be a complicated idea to understand so I will try to make it simple and to the point.

Your muscle is your metabolism! Simple enough? The more muscle you have (and this does not mean big bulky muscle, don’t worry ladies) , the higher your metabolism, and the more calories your body requires a day. Lets say you ate 1500 calories a day, every day, and your body required 1500 calories a day. This means that you are neither gaining or losing weight. If you keep the eating habits the same and add five pounds of muscle you will increase your calorie need and ultimately have a calorie deficit at the end of the day, what does that mean? It means you will lose weight! How stupid simple is that?

There is definitely much more to it but that little idea completely changed my understanding of how to increase metabolism. This created a delima for me though, I hate going to the gym and I think it is because of the meat heads that overwhelm it. To get around it I simply got some exercise bands which allowed me to get an equivalent workout at home. If you do happen to pick some up there are plenty of free guides online to different exercises you can do with them, best of all there cheap but work! Again just adding muscle is only part of the solution but it will play a part to increase metabolism.

Increase Metabolism With More Food!

December 15, 2007

If you love to eat, you are going to love this method to increase metabolism. When I was at my highest weight I was eating so much food that I would have to take a day off from eating (well at least during my vacation at a all-inclusive resort). When I finally reached that point of feeling awful, sluggish, and hating the reflection of bouncing fat when I moved in the mirror I decided I was going to search out everything I could to drop this nasty looking fat that makes me look like the marshmallow man.

I tried the pills, the Slim-Fast, starving myself, the low-carb diet, the high-protein diet, and, well.. you get the point. Finally decided to pick up a book called The 3-Hour Diet by Jorge Cruise. The book definitly does not offer any miracles and my own weight loss took some hard work but over all it was a killer process. Ultimately I not only lost the stupid fat but got some good food in me as well. If you have heard of Mr. Cruise yet, check him out and though he does not have all the answers but it will be a solid start to increasing that slowing metabolism.

I own my own personal training business so it has become increasing difficult to prepare and cook enough food with my busy schedule. For all you who have little time, a slowing metabolism, and too much fat I have found another great option to increase metabolism. I am not a huge fan of the frozen meals so I contacted some trainer friends and they recommended PurFoods . When I went to the site I was suprised to find that Jorge Cruise and PurFoods was working together. To get to the point, PurFoods simply prepares fresh meal that have no added preservatives and send the meals to your house. It is by no means better then fresh cooked food in your kitchen but if your busy and are snacking on office candy and awful fast food salads it might be worth the extra bucks. So if you got some fat to lose, these are some of the items I used to increase metabolism.
